London in lockdown

The UK was put into lockdown on 23 March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For nearly 3 months I haven't gone far from my home in South London. On 11 June, I ventured out into central London for the first time since lockdown began. These photos were taken around lunch time on a Thursday when London would normally be buzzing with activities.

London Lockdown

I took a near empty train into the City and walked from St. Paul's, across the Millenium bridge to the South Bank and onto London Bridge.

London lockdown

There was a sense of eeriness in the capital. Roads were almost empty, lone joggers going about their daily exercise, shops closed except a handful of take away food outlets serving customers who mostly worked in nearby construction sites.
